EXTRA INSTRUCTIONS

This core tutorial is based on making a Lined Double Pleat Curtain with

  1. Plain or Patterned fabric
  2. Standard full widths of fabric (curtains made to nearest half width)
  3. Hand pleated buckram heading

We have added extra information and links to our CURTAIN EXTRAs mini tutorials and PRO METHODs in drop downs at the bottom of the appropriate tutorial pages for the following variations.

Our curtain tutorials are based on the basic method of making the curtains to the nearest whole width of fabric.

This works well in the majority of cases, especially with standard pole lengths and fabric widths, however the fullness ratio of the curtain can sometimes be increased/decreased too much by rounding the number of widths to the nearest whole number. If that is the case we can round the number of widths up and then cut the width of the panel down to give the exact fullness ratio we want.
