How to make a
Curtain Return to the Wall

The flap on the outside edge of the curtain is called the RETURN regardless of whether it returns to the wall or is held flat in place by the end ring of a curtain pole or a fixed eyelet at the end of a track.

Generally we don't return to the wall and make our RETURNS 7 to 8cm wide, holding the RETURN (Outside edge) flat in place. (first image)

Sometimes you may want to attach the return to the wall instead and hold the curtain to the wall. For example we do this to make blackout curtains more effective or reduce draughts. (second image)

If you are returning your curtain to the wall you will need to take this into account at 4 points in the making process.
